Privacy and cookies
Prelinq, a Code43 product, helps you create and manage custom link previews. This page explains the information used by the service and your choices about optional tracking.
Your choices
Optional analytics and referral attribution are enabled by default until you save your preferences. You can reject both or turn each off separately. Your choice is stored in a necessary cookie for up to 180 days on this browser and domain. You may be asked again when it expires or the consent version changes. Necessary sign-in and storage features remain available when you reject optional tracking.
Cookies and browser storage
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| prelinq-consent | Remembers your analytics and referral choices; necessary. | Up to 180 days |
| Authentication cookies | Sign-in, sessions, and authentication security; necessary. | Varies by authentication cookie and session |
| ref | Remembers who invited you; optional referral attribution. | Up to 30 days; removed when processed during sign-up or when you reject referral attribution |
| Local storage | Draft links, theme, selected plans, previous sign-in method, and dismissed onboarding messages. | Until the feature clears it or you clear browser storage; some drafts expire earlier |
Analytics and link visits
Unless you disable optional analytics, we load Umami Cloud to measure site usage. Umami describes its tracker as cookie-free. We exclude URL query parameters and fragments from this tracker and enable its Do Not Track support. Request and browser information is sent to Umami when tracking runs.
Prelinq records shared-link visits independently of your optional analytics choice using a timestamp, referring domain, country, device category, browser, destination, and an approximate daily visitor identifier derived from the user-agent. These measurements help link owners understand their traffic. A derived identifier is not a guarantee of anonymity. Declining optional analytics stops Umami site tracking but does not stop shared-link visit measurement or hosting operational logs.
Accounts, billing, and service providers
We use account information such as your email address, name, sign-in provider, and profile image to operate your account. We store links, previews, and related settings you create. The service uses providers including Vercel for hosting, Firebase for stored service data, Google or email for authentication, and Stripe for billing. Optional features may contact other providers, such as image or AI services, using information needed for the feature.
Referral-link requests may be logged with an IP address, invitation code, and timestamp for abuse detection independently of optional referral attribution. Rejecting referral tracking stops the attribution cookie; it does not undo a referral already applied to an account.
External websites
Following a link takes you to another website with its own privacy practices. Embedded destination previews remain unloaded until you select “Load external preview.” Loading a preview sends a request to that site and may allow its cookies or tracking. Your Prelinq preferences do not control another website’s storage.
Changing preferences and contacting us
Use Cookie preferences in the footer to withdraw optional consent. Disabling referrals removes the referral cookie. Disabling analytics reloads the page to stop the loaded tracker. Withdrawal does not delete information already collected. You can also clear cookies and local storage using your browser settings, which may sign you out and remove drafts.
